Chainsaws and Cheerleaders! I LOVE IT! What else do you need in a movie?!!

 

Why would anyone ship a goth chick like Dawn off to Cheerleader camp? Dawn can't even stand being out in the sun. . .must less hopping around with some platinum sluts while she cheers the home team. But the school therapist thinks this is the perfect way for Dawn to learn a few "social skills" so cheerleader camp is it! Now Dawn is being recuited by the "Raider Cheer Squad" to sell magazine subscriptions door to door. Something about raising money for new cheerleader uniforms. Too bad for Dawn that the first door she knocks on is the home of a psycho sorceress dead-set on unlocking a "time portal" to bring a 500 year old witch named Lucinda (Tiffany Shepis) into the modern world. Now Dawn and the cheerleaders are up to their elbows in chainsaws, demon snakes, zombies, and flying heads as they battle a blood crazy witch who wants them dead. Nobody said being a Chainsaw Cheerleader was gonna be easy.

Originally this letter was a nice thank you to everyone who has supported RWS over the years. But, I was just informed that the major theatres in America still have not confirmed our May 23 opening. So I am appealing to everyone, family, friends and fans to LET YOUR LOCAL THEATRE KNOW – ‘I Want To See the POSTAL Movie!!!” There are three major companies that control the movie theatres in America. Email them. We need to get their attention and show them that we want to see POSTAL at a theatre near you.  A FISTFULL OF ULLI!

 Over the past few's years Ulli Lommel has gained a bad reputation, due to a series of ultra low budget reality horror films. Lommel new film looks rather interesting, it's an action film starring David Carradine.

LEIGH SCOTT RETURNS WITH THE DARKEST EVIL

Production has just wrapped on THE DARKNESS EVIL. Its a modern retelling of H.P. Lovercraft's classic tale, THE DUNWICH HORROR. The film tells the story of several scholars who discover other worldly being's that threaten to destroy mankind. Veteran Lovecraft actor. Jeffy Combs plays Wilbur Whateley who is apart of a strange inbred family that help unleashes these being upon the world. Apparently Writer/Director Leigh Scott has stuck pretty close to the original story. THE DARKEST EVIL will also feature Dean Stockwell and ex-asylumites Griff Furst and Sarah Lieving. It will have a limited theatrical release this Halloween.

RECOIL AKA SNAKES ON A SUB

Sadly, too many films are being sold as cult classics. It's rare for a  cult film to emerge from an organic place. But it still happens. I can’t think of a better example than SNAKES ON A PLANE. For me the movie in the fan’s heads ended up being better than the film itself. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it, but it was needlessly serious for a movie whose centre premise is rather silly. One of my first thoughts after watching it was “I wonder what that would have been like if Fred Olen Ray had directed it". Well I guess I'm going find out. But instead of a plane it will be on a submarine and instead of Samuel L Jackson it will have Luke Perry.  Shooting started this morning. It will feature Luke Perry, Cynthia Gibb, Bill Stevens, Sam Scarpa and Louis Mandylor.

KING BONG: EVIL BONG 2

Not much is known at this stage. Shooting started last month. The plot takes the guys from the original film to the deep jungle were they have to solve a big problem. There they encounter the KING BONG! Who is protected by the POONTANG TRIBE! A release date for KING BONG has yet to be announced.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH

Who would have thought that The Asylum would be releasing their version of JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH around the same time as the multimillion dollar, New Line version starring Brendan Fraser. The Poster looks good.

 

From the Jules Verne classic, a hi-tech drilling rig must rescue a research team trapped deep below the Earth's surface. There they discover an exotic world -- rich with spectacular flora and fantastical creatures.

UWE BOLL NEWS - HOUSE OF THE DEAD / IN NAME OF THE KING
This Autumn Loinsgate will release the long awaited HOUSE OF THE DEAD - FUNNY VERSION. Uwe Boll has turned his unintentional comedy into a intentional comedy by reshooting 45 minutes of footage.
 
 IN THE NAME OF THE KING is nominated for three LEO Awards:

Best Picture Editing in a Feature Length Drama,
Best Costume Design in a Feature Length Drama and
Best Production Design in a Feature Length Drama.
 
The awards will take place on  Saturday, May 24, 2008, in Westin Bayshore Vancouver.

I just saw the trailer on myspace. I was really impressed. It looks like a lot of fun.

BOLL VS BAY: GAME OFF!

Uwe Boll's previously posted video has been taken off line. I guess Boll must have prerecorded his responses and someone messed up, by putting it online. Regardless this pr stunt has bombed BIG TIME! For those who didn't see it, here is a transcription of the video.

So who knows? I cant see what Bay would have to gain from boxing Boll. I don't see what Boll has to gain from launching a false pr stunt? Knocking Bay out is going to win him way more fans.

BOLL vs ZANE

For his encore Boll is suing Billy Zane. Boll is suing for $700,000 of revenues from his 2006 medieval vampire evil BLOODRAYNE. Boll claims that Zane was the one who suggested Romar Entertainment handle the distrubution of the film. Zane and Romar allegedly promised the film would open in 2,000 theatres and that a $10 million advanced from would be used for advertising and promotion, but at least $900,000 when to Zane and Romar CEO James Schramm and the film only opened in 950 theatres. BLOODRAYNE was a box-office flop. World wide is made just under $4 million of is $25 million dollar budget.

HAMMER IS BACK FROM THE DEAD

After several failed attempts Hammer Films is back! On May 10, 3007 John De Mol purchased the Hammer Films rights via his private equity firm Cyrte Investments. As well has holding the rights to over 300 Hammer Films, De Mol has restarted the studio. This sounds like an fantastic idea until you find out who John Del Mol is. He owns Endemol Productions which is the  worlds biggest TV production company, which brought us shows such as FEAR FACTOR, BIG BROTHER, EXTREME MAKEOVER and DEAL OR NO DEAL. I wondering if Mr De Mol has the sensibilities to bring our beloved Hammer back to life. But on the other hand De Mol dose seem like a  ghastly fiend that sucks the life out of anything he touches, and a  mad doctor who creates an abomination that needs to be destroyed! So maybe it wont be that bad? There first movie BEYOND THE RAVE is a  contemporary vampire story which you watch via myspace in  20 x 4 min. serial. WATCH IT HERE

BAY SCARED OF BOLL

For those who came late. In order to get publicity for his new movie POSTAL (MAY 23),  Uwe Boll claimed that if ONE MILLION people signed an anti Boll petition he would give up directing forever. To add fuel to his fire he released two videos in which he criticized Michael Bay, Eli Roth and George Clooney. People wanted answers so he we interviewed several times. He used  every opportunity to promote POSTAL (MAY 23). His IMDB starmeter jumped from  1195 to 24. At one point he out ranked  Tom Cruise (25), Russell Crowe (26), Al Pacino (32) and Zac Efron (34). At last count the anti petition was at 230417. Soon afterwards his sword and sandal epic IN THE NAME OF THE KING was released on DVD. It was well received. It's currently ranked number 7 on the U.S. charts and number 1 in Germany. To finished off the month he has challenged Hollywood director Michael Bay to a 12 round, pay per preview, boxing match at the Mondelay Bay Casino. All in all its been a pretty good month for Uwe Boll.

"Can we stop talking about this guy! I never even heard his name till last week when he made threats and rants. The guy is a fucking idiot, making threats to me, Clooney, Eli Roth, says he has a doctorate - but uses the word “retard” in his vocabulary, come on. When you look at his videos, what is interesting are the backgrounds. I guess his low rent offices, with 15 year old 3/4 machines, archaic computers, this is just some dumb chump trying to get some fame when he has none, so he has to make Youtube lame quality anger rants. Guy just want attention because he can’t get any for the so called movies he makes. Nothing sadder when he had his screening in LA to an over half empty movie house. He is a troubled soul - let’s just waste talking about him please.

SIX DEGREES OF FRED OLEN RAY

Fred Olen Ray has amazing DNA! He is related to some of greatest figures in world history such as Edward I, King of England (22nd Great-Grandfather),  William the Conqueror (27th Great-Grandfather), President Ulysses S. Grant (6th Cousin, 5 times removed), First Lady Laura Bush (9th Cousin, twice removed),  Princess Diana Spencer (14th cousin, 16 times removed) and he is cousins to writer H.P. Lovecraft, Jesse James and Roy Rogers.

 So what dose he do with his super DNA? Dose he find a cure for cancer? DON'T BE SILLY? Stamp out terrorist? I THINK NOT! Try and feed third world nations? DON'T MAKE ME VOMIT IN RAGE? SIX DEGREES OF REPTISAURUS

There are B good reasons to see this film!

REASON ONE: This movie is based on obscure comic called REPTISAURUS: THE TERRIBLE. You’ve never heard of it? Don’t worry not many people have. It was a short-lived, silver age comic that ran seven issues from 1962-1993. It was inspired by the Danish monster movie REPTILICUS! The American version was directed by one of the best, worst directors or all time: Sidney W Pink! So technically its a REPTILICUS movie! (On a some what unrelated note I went to university with Sidney W Pink the 5. We could never work out he was related, but what’s the chances they weren’t).

   

REASON TWO: It is directed by the son of the worlds greatest B Movie Director! Yes, Fred Olen Ray has a son and his name is Chris Ray! He is the one the prophecy talks about. He will bring balance to the force… umm… he has BEE’S running through his veins (so to speck) and we’re all looking forward to seeing what he can do.

REASON THREE: It is produced by the notorious David S. Sterling. People seems to have trouble selling good films, David S. Sterling makes selling bad films look easy! Well there not ALL  bad. Sterling has produced a few gems such as Creepies, Creepies 2 and with any luck Reptisaurus!

 

Fred Olen Ray has described it as “soldiers on an island fighting a giant monster. Special Guest Star - Gil Gerard.” That sounds pretty fun to me! The B Movie Force, and B Movie Karma (known as Barama) is with this film. I'm going to end with one last  B movie connection. Gil Gerard played Buck Roger in 1970 TV show and appears in Chris Rays first film. Buster Crabbe played Buck Rogers in the 1930 serial and appeared in Fred Olen Ray first film! Chris Ray and Reptisaurus are in good company! I’ll keep you all updated.
